a song speaking to my soul
words that made their way to me
during my week-long break from work i decided to read The Art of Letting Go by Richard Rohr. so many of the statements he makes are still speaking to me. i see a profound parallel between rest + release + my current journey. since i’m still processing, i figured i’d share what’s been surfacing for me. maybe you’ll relate with it to:)
a big question from the book is, what if deep faith is about free-falling, not constantly consuming + doing? i’ve learned to detach from false parts of me because of challenging experiences. while i wouldn’t choose these experiences, they released me from boxes of beliefs i thought i needed to live within. we witness daily deaths that require us to let go of resources, abilities, and beliefs, but they also invite us to live more free. it’s a strange paradox, but once we lose a lot, we discover we actually have all that we need.
nature has a way of being a balm. the safety, security, and beauty it brings gently relieves + invites us to release whatever we need.
releasing requires an awareness of what we have. releasing what weighs us is where transformation can take place.
releasing requires vulnerability. there is strength in our courageous choice to release.
releasing refreshing us. it brings simplicity + peace, eventually. rituals to release don’t always provide instant relief, but there will be a gradual grace that fills the space. we will find ourselves free from our self-limiting beliefs that frequently hold us back.
i’m discovering rhythms + rituals to release what no longer works for me. it’s been healing, honoring, and helping me feel more whole. i sense that releasing what’s not serving me is making room for restoration. the restoration i want requires continual, compassionate release and brings me to a spacious place where i can receive more abundantly.
so here i find myself releasing so i can rebuild + restore with the resources i need for my right-now life. this seems to be the way i can continue to show up, season to season, in a sustainable way.
